Raising Funds for Technology
Check out our “Fund a Need” video to hear district staff and faculty discuss the resources and training used in and outside the classroom to maximize student learning.
Will They Be Ready?
Early, primary, and secondary education are the building blocks for everything that comes next. Eureka Union School District (EUSD) provides a sturdy foundation for our children’s education. Standardized test results which place EUSD schools as the highest performing in the entire region prove it.
We know we need to continually invest in our district to continue these results and prepare our students for the next chapter. With your participation in the Annual Giving Campaign, ESF hopes to substantially fund EUSD’s effort to modernize our classrooms, creating ‘21st-century’ opportunities for hands-on, interactive learning, those already available at other high-performing districts.
HOW TO SPELL SUCCESS
In the short-term, these classrooms will serve to enhance our student’s S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, math) experience. These days, STEM is the basis for most careers, from artist to computer engineer. In fact, it is predicted that STEM-related jobs will:
- increase 28% by 2024 (compared with average projected growth of just 6.5%)
- pay twice as much as other careers
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
As we continue to be the lowest state-funded district in the County, those statistics, along with new state-mandated science standards and a 2019 standardized science test, underscore the immediate need in our district. EUSD Director of Curriculum and Instruction Ginna Myers points out, “Enrichment, going beyond what is standard, matters. And those types of learning experiences do not happen by accident. They are designed, which requires an investment of time and resources.”
Our teachers, creating engaging lesson plans to meet the rigors of these new science standards, need our help. With your donation to ESF’s Annual Giving Campaign kicking off February 1, you can make these classroom experiences a reality for our kids. Of course, ESF remains committed to all existing enrichment activities and, as always, you may choose to direct your contribution.
Remember, it is our collective responsibility to prepare our kids for their future.
