FAQs
Besides the cliché that kindergarten will be over ‘before you know it’, it is important to preserve valuable programs so that they are in place for your children as they age through the district. A district that is enhanced by enrichment programs can attract top talent and inter-district transfers, keeping our campuses at capacity and thriving, and our property values maximized.
Your PTC donation is appreciated and will go a long way to ensuring a satisfying school year for your child. But ESF needs your donations, too. Whereas PTC funds remain on campus, ESF funds are contributed directly to the district to support district-wide programs and features.
Property taxes we pay go to the County and then are allocated to a number of other local agencies including cities and special districts. In the end, property tax revenues only cover about half of the District’s operating costs.
The rest primarily comes from the state. Unfortunately, our allocation of state funding is proportionally smaller than other districts because of the demographics of our community. This means our District has to do more with less. For this reason, EUSD is the lowest funded school district among the 16 in Placer County. In order to continue to provide enrichment programs such as music, band, choir, world language, and athletics, the District looks to ESF for assistance.
ESF relies entirely on volunteers. The majority of our board members and event chairs work full-time and see it as a priority to make time to support our schools. Besides event planning and sponsor management, we have dozens of monthly tasks, many of which can be done at home on a flex schedule. Learn more.
Besides monetary donations, ESF requires hundreds of volunteers to execute successful fundraisers. If you have an hour a month, you can help.
As ESF’s founders recognized 25 years ago, it is important to preserve valuable programs so that they are in place for the next generation. A district that is enhanced by enrichment programs can attract top talent and inter-district transfers, keeping our campuses at capacity and thriving, and our property values maximized.
Fully funded enrichment for every student costs $800,000. ESF’s fundraising goal is always to fully fund this cost, which equals a donation of several hundred dollars per family. We realize that a donation of this size is not possible for all families while others can afford far more. For this reason, we offer a calendar of varied fundraisers, providing an opportunity for every family to donate what they can, when they can.
