Annual Giving Campaign
HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE THE HIGHEST-ACHIEVING YET LOWEST-FUNDED DISTRICT IN THE COUNTY?
Several factors attribute to our success: dedicated teachers, dynamic administration, and a fiscally prudent school board. But it is the support of our community that gives us an enviable edge over other districts.
The cornerstone of ESF’s fundraising is the Annual Giving Campaign, a month-long opportunity for all families to contribute to bridge the gap between inadequate state funding and high student achievement. And because all operating costs are covered by our generous campaign sponsor, Northwestern Mutual, 100% of contributions will be passed directly to the district.
In order to raise the $500,000 required to cover district-wide enrichment programs, every family must do their part. Parent participation in the Annual Giving Campaign has dwindled from 46% of families in 2012, to just 14% in 2016. If this downward trajectory continues, ESF will be forced to decrease its year-end contribution to the district.
As early as the 2017-2018 school year, your student may experience decreased access to librarians and technology and larger class sizes. As a guideline, ESF suggests a donation amount of $365 per family, representing just $1 a day to ensure that your student(s) continue to receive the high-level education we have come to expect. However, ANY AMOUNT your family can comfortably give is important. If every district family donated $100, combined with the annual ESF fundraisers, we could achieve this year’s fundraising need.
It is our collective responsibility to maintain the high standards of EUSD for our children. Please donate now to the ESF Annual Giving Campaign by clicking the donation buttons at the top of the page by February 28, 2017.
